It’s easy to completely ruin an otherwise crotchety cross stitch pattern. Inspired by CalamityWare, I give you Calamity Delft 1.0, which I made for a Very Wonderful Dutch friend of mine. Pro tip: set it up in the guest bathroom or among other decor and wait for unsuspecting visitors to take their time to realize what’s going on here…

Rule: wash all finished work with dish soap to rid the fabric of greasy fingerprints and soak it in vinegar to set the colours.

Plan how to subvert the otherwise lovely Delft stitchery
When you realize how impossible it is to roll with a altered photocopy, you take the evening to transcribe the pattern for yourself.
